His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has been the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the UAE since September 25, 2021. He was appointed the First Deputy Ruler of Dubai by the decree (21) issued on April 28, 2023 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed in his capacity as Ruler of Dubai.

His Highness Sheikh Maktoum was appointed the First Vice Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai pursuant to a decree issued by His Highness the Ruler of Dubai on August 14, 2008. Additionally, he presides over The Strategic Affairs Council of the Dubai Executive Council, which was established on December 6, 2017.

His Highness Sheikh Maktoum was appointed Head of the Court of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai through Decree No. (22) of 2021 issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed.

Additionally, His Highness Sheikh Maktoum assumed the presidency of the Dubai Judicial Council, the Dubai International Financial Center, and the Supreme Legislation Committee of Dubai.

He adopted various strategies to enhance Dubai's stature as a leading regional and global financial center, focusing on areas such as flexibility, transparency, operational efficiency and financial technology. These strategies encompass the Dubai International Financial Courts’ strategic plan and initiatives to enhance the implementation of judgments and financial bonds in Dubai.

His Highness possesses the traits of an ambitious young leader with extensive experience and knowledge. He adopts open-minded thinking and is commitment to the strategic vision of the Ruler of Dubai, striving for qualitative development and making humanitarian contributions regionally and globally.

His Highness Sheikh Maktoum completed his school education at Rashid Private School, Dubai and graduated from American University in Dubai with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2006. He attended numerous training courses at the Dubai School of Government and Harvard University in the United States.
